Ive just returned from another fantastic weekend in Budapest for the Hungarian Grand Prix. This was my second trip to the F1 in Hungary and it continues to be a great city and circuit. As with last time the weather was glorious with just a little rain at the circuit to make the session interesting.

The city itself is brilliant. A wonderful mix of historic buildings and modern architecture. The prices for accommodation, food & drink continue to be very reasonable and we had a great time in the bars and restaurants around the town. We even met Jenson Button in an Argentinian Steakhouse on Saturday night after qualifying which was great.

The race on Sunday was slightly less interesting with no real drama. However the helicopter flight back to the city afterwards was fantastic – great views of the city on the approach to our landing spot by the Danube.

There are some pictures from the trip in the Hungary 2016 Gallery

Whilst I was away some used wheels for the Westfield came up on the forum at a great price so I snapped them up. Ive been looking for some black ones for a while so was pleased to snap these up. I’ll get the tyres swapped over and the wheels fitted in the next week.

Not much driving this month

Been a quiet period for the car with only one run out. Mostly this is due to our new arrival Idris the springer who at 13 weeks is taking some looking after.

Our new neighbour is into cars and fancies owning a kit car so I did get out with him for a 30min lap round the local roads. Door to door service for him which I think he enjoyed. There’s a video of the run too:

Lastly the car has been off the road for a timing belt change. I had no history of the existing one but assumed it was new when the car was built although it could have been changed since that. With no garuntee of its age I changed it anyway to be sure. It would be an expensive fail if it snapped! It marks the last of the planned big jobs I wanted to complete though which is nice.
