Ready for the off?? Ecuador Volcanes 2015 is go!

So, the time has nearly come. What started as a vague plan a year ago has now materialised into reality and a pending flight to South America this Sunday. Am I excited? You bet I am.

When the news broke last month that Cotopaxi had started erupting I was nervous that things would not go forward so I am glad we have managed to secure alternative plans to climb Chimborazo as well as Antisana – all that can conspire against us now I hope, is the weather – so I’m trying to avoid looking at the long range forecasts! I can’t control that, so there is little point losing sleep over it.

Packing this time has been a real challenge to say the least. KLM have a blanket limit of 23kg – regardless as to how many mountains you are climbing. That is a serious issue…
